Garage Conversion & Full House Renovation – Petts Wood, Orpington

This project in Petts Wood, Orpington involved a full house renovation together with the rescue and completion of a problematic garage conversion carried out by a previous builder.
When we took over the project, the garage conversion had failed Building Control and a number of construction and drainage issues were identified. Rather than simply finishing the remaining works, we reviewed the existing construction, identified the necessary remedial works and worked with Building Control to bring the conversion back to the required standard. This included correcting issues left by the previous contractor and making further design adjustments as the works progressed.
An important part of the brief was to create a comfortable ground-floor bedroom for the client’s 84-year-old mother. The garage conversion therefore had a very practical purpose: transforming an underused part of the property into valuable additional living space that could support the family’s changing needs.
Alongside the conversion, the rest of the house was fully renovated to create a more comfortable, functional and cohesive home. The project was ultimately completed ahead of schedule, allowing the client’s mother to move into her new ground-floor bedroom as planned.
